Robbie and Liz Gwinn
Area Director/Marketing Coordinator
I’ve lived in Champaign my whole life, except for a 7-year stint in Northern Virginia (NoVA), just outside of Washington, DC. I’m a Bottenfield, Edison, Central and University of Illinois grad. When I was in 5th grade, my youth group leader explained the Gospel to our small group. She told us there is a big difference between being a church goer and receiving God’s free gift of salvation and following Jesus. I committed my life to Jesus, and I’ve been changed forever!
High School was full with sports, band, boy scouts, and youth group. The FCA huddle at Central was a huge encouragement to me and helped me grow tremendously as a young Christian athlete. When I was 16, I met a cute girl in class, Liz, and a few months later she became my girlfriend. We’ve been together ever since!
I did an internship with the Champaign FCA office during my last semester at the University of Illinois, and after our wedding in 2005, Liz and I moved to NoVA where I joined staff with FCA. We loved our time there, and Liz joined me on staff in 2011 shortly after our son Noah was born.
In the fall of 2011, we moved back to Champaign to be on staff with Illini Land FCA. Shortly thereafter, our second child, Stella, was born. Liz and I are passionate about the work God has called us to, and we are thankful for the Godly community the Lord has given us through FCA and our family at Christ Community Church.
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
